I love my new ACER Aspire V3 571G, but the battery is pretty sucky. Does anyone please know if there is a good and reputable one I can buy that ships to the EU and provides a good increase in battery life? :)

    Cheers,

    Rich.

Apparently not. Just an advice- something you may already know- the battery has to be physically bigger and raise the back of the notebook. If you come across one that claims to be 9 cell or something and doesn't stick out of the back and is not heavier than the standard one- it's not real.

This is how it's supposed to look like.

Hmm, I found one here and it looks like the read deal, but no idea as to what kind of quality it is... Acer Aspire V3-571G Akku (9 Zellen)

And yup, I know a 9 cell battery is physically bigger than a 6 cell battery... :)

If a notebook manufacturer doesn't offer a high capacity battery that does only mean exactly that- no Acer-approved battery.
But with popular notebooks and with Acer using the same battery on several notebooks to cut costs and simplify there are companies that produce high capacity batteries which are very good.

I'm actually typing it on a notebook powered by a non-Acer battery with twice the capacity (and size) made out of a high quality plastic and Sony cells.
Admittedly it was reasonably expensive at 80€ but that's not the point- point is there are good batteries not made by Acer and not supported by them.

Typicall, if a vendor does not make a 9-cell battery, then a 3rd party does. I don't think it's ever been much different in that respect.
