hi i am looking to buy acer aspire 3742g core i5. my only trouble is that it uses intel core i5 430m which is not as god as other in the core i5 family. Should i stick with it or go to intel core i3 laptop saving some extra money... as turbo boost wont be of much use to me i guess???

Turbo Boost is in fact just another speed step so there's no reason why it wouldn't be useful.
Core i5 430M works @2.5GHz even when both physical cores are under full load.
