When you had Windows XP on your laptop did your Bluetooth actually work? Like when you pressed the button did it say "Bluetooth Enabled"?

    Hi,
i had the same problem when i upgraded by 5562 to Vista. It seems that i downloaded the wrong version of Launch Manager and ePowerManagement. You need to install these two programs before you can enable Bluetooth or in some cases the Wireless Lan. If you have a different version of Launch Manager, like for a different model, and install it, you might have the "No device" error.

So, make sure you download the correct version. Else, download the Acer Upgrade Patch for vista, for your laptop.

    Cheers.

I got it to work by downloading the official Widcomm bluetooth drivers. Google for it, or search the forums, someone has posted a comprehensive list of things to do when upgrading the 8204 to Vista.

I think it was here: http://www.broadcom.com/products/bluetooth_update.php

Latest Bios is the most important thing. When I installed everything, it all worked except Bluetooth, but with the Widcomm drivers that worked too.

The only thing that didn't work for me was Vista itself, but that's for you to judg once it's up and running ;) Went back to XP and upgraded to OS X after that..

Sooo... before you do anything else go here and download ALL the Vista drivers and install them ALL.

    ftp://[email protected]:21/notebook/travelmate_8200/vista

    Ok?

I never had a problem turning on Bluetooth but I also installed all those drivers. Most important is the BIOS version. Which version of the BIOS do you have? Is it the one that is required for Vista?
