    Hi

i experienced a really bad problem yesterday. For some reason my notebook wont start. What happens is i turn the laptop on i hear the hard drive spin and in a matter of 3 to 4 seconds everything shuts off but there is still power surging through the laptop but the screen still stays black without any response at all. I checked everything else CPU, Ram, HDD and still no luck.
    What could the problem be?

    System is:

    C2D T7200 (2.00GHz) | ATI X1600 (128MB) | i945PM| Crucial 2x1GB DDR2 (667Mhz) |120GB Seagate | Realtek HD |

Is your power adapter definately working properly? I'd try another adapter first. Your battery is probably flat, so the notebook turns off after a few seconds. Mine did the same thing and I got the adapter replaced after trying a friends adapter which worked.
