I recently upgraded my Aspire 5050 to Windows Vista, however there are a few things that I really need that won't work on it plus it's a bit of a memory hog on a system that is already lacking in RAM.
I went to try and restore to the XP Media Edition that I had before by using the backup discs I created when I first set up the laptop, but the eRecovery utility wasn't upgraded when I moved to Vista and the new one that is up for download on the acer website just tells me my NAPP is an old version so I cannot install it.
So, my question is... does anyone have any idea how can I get back to XP?

You wouldn't be able to use the recovery disks as those are only meant for recovering it from system failure on the same operating system. Did your laptop come with installation disks to reinstall back XP?
