I would love to have a backlit keyboard on my 8943G. Not sure if this is even possible but I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not the keyboard from the 8951G would work in the 8943G?

I would imagine the keyboard layout is identical but not 100% sure. My main concern is the power supply to the keyboard for the lighting. I would assume that it runs through the ribbon cable connected to the keyboard. Whether or not the 8951G keyboard would be supplied power via the connector on 8943G is what I need to figure out.

Also, I believe I read somewhere that the 8951G has a dedicated button to turn on/off the lighting...owners of the 8951, is that accurate? Is it Dedicated as in off the grid or a FN+?? operation? I am hoping it is a FN+?? operation.

    Thanks in advance

Took a closer look at a picture of the 8951g with the keyboard removed...looks like it has two ribbon cable plugs...Can anyone confirm for me how many ribbon cables are attached to the 8951g keyboard? If there are two...I won't be able to swap keyboards for sure :-(

I really doubt that it's possible. But you never know and I know if you ask Acer they wil. say it's not possible. They told me it was impossible to add a second drive to my 8950 but i did.
