    8935G and 5935G: Gemstone Blue?

    Are the new models by Acer, the 8935G and the 5935G, based on the Gemstone Blue design? Because both look very different from the 6935G, 8930G etc.

    Is that a new design and Acer hasn't announced it yet?

    I heard they changed the design because of heat issues. The new computers are being sold in some countries in Europe and supposed to hit the USA sometime this month.

    That's OK, but I don't really like this design. I think the Gemstone Blue is much better.

    Well, when the LCD blocks part of the heat exhaust, that's what you're going to run into.
    About time they figured that out. :p

    I believe they are indeed the next evolution of the Gemstone series (the original Gemstones were released in 2007, Blue in 2008).

    I'm just waiting for the 8935 to be released in the USA. I see they are available in England and I believe Canada.

    i saw an acer gemstoneblue 14.5" AS4935G at a local store. But i can't find any review about it, even it does not exists on the acer site.
    Has anyone seen a review about it?
