I think my 8930g might have died.

While sitting idle, bout 15min after booting it up, I heard a small snap and the machine lost power. The power brick still had it's light, but the blue ends and charging indicator lights went out.

Tried to power on and nothing. Removed the battery for a few hours and still nothing.

My gpu was on it's way out, I had to underclock it to keep it from crashing, but I doubt that's it's issue, or is it?
I have a 9700m buyt I need the mxm iii heatsinks to try it.

Please, anyone know what might have crapped out?

    Thanks

Did you try to turn on the laptop only with battery installed and AC plugged off? First thing went in my mind - short circuit in supply circuit of laptop/power adapter.

Interesting. We should wait for others users opinion about this situation.

Do you have other GPU to try it? Maybe GPU is dead? But, usually, if GPU is dead, the laptop doesn`t behave it self like that.

I have the 9700, just no proper heatsink.

So weird it just went like that. Fortunately I have an AW18 too.
