    Does the 4gb version of the 8930g come with Vista 32 or Vista 64 , as if it`s Vista 32 you will only be able to access 3gb of memory.

    Now to my point, I have been looking at the free Windows 7 upgraded, but the Acer FAQ says if your notebook comes with Vista32 you will only get a Windows 7 -32bit upgrade.

    Does anybody have any information on this.

    it will be vista 32 on your laptop

    dont let the name fool you with teh 32 and 64 at the end

    The 32 or 64 bit at the end is the HDD size. Add a "0" to the end and that's the size of the HDD in GB.

    The breakdown of the product code from Play is:

    8930G - 864G64BN

    86 = P8600 processor
    4G = 4GB memory
    64 = 640GB HDD
    B = Blueray drive
    N = Wireless N.

    and for the windows 7 thing you get a voucher with your laptop for a free upgrade when its released and yes your right you only get windows 7 64 bit if your laptop came with vista 64 bit

    you can only have the windows 7 upgrade if you have a laptop with : Vista home preimium and vista ultimate

    Seems a bit stupid to ship a 4gb machine with a 32bit OS , dont know what to do now.

    Thanks for the product code, explanation.
