Have anyone downgraded/upgraded to XP 64 bbit on the Acer 8920G laptop ?
i've read through the Acer Extensia downgrade thread and it seems like the AHCI is a problem. Will it be a problem for the 8920G too ?
Also, the extensia seemed to have the XP 64bit drivers on the driverdisk. Does my driverdisk also include them ? Because not ALL of the XP 64bit drivers are listed on acers download site or in this ftp site.

Ok, i did install Windows Vista 64bit pro and the system ran super fast. But it was no good because more than half of the drivers would not work. Including the USB hubs/connectors. I had to install the 8600GS driver for my 9500GS video card to get things running because there is no M9500GS videocard driver for WinXP 64bit.
Anyway, i only installed it on a partioned disk. Erased it again. I got a glimse of the good stuff.
I only hope Acer will come out with the right drivers for WinXP 64bit. Is that possible? What are the chances that they will release all of the working drivers for WinXP 64 (Aspire 8920G) ?

I have the 6920G and most of the drivers work. I didn't notice much of a performance increase however...
