well my laptops card melted recently and since my waranty is up i want to get a new one but the "offical" acer repairshop say that it costs 260$ (3650 512 ram) and i simply dont believe them as i have had problems with them in the past if anyone can help and tell me the price or some newer one that might be cheaper and have the same power
    thank you.

It doesn't appear to be outrageously expensive. It could be worse.

Anyway, here are the stores I heard of. More can easily be found on the internet. Make sure you search the MXM upgrade thread for information about your laptop. You could use this as an opportunity to upgrade your graphics card.

http://www.mxm-upgrade.com/- they specialize in graphics cards
http://www.zandparts.com/acer/index.php-they sell acer spare parts, but it looks like they are having some problems with their website at the moment.

That sounds about right - MXM cards are darn expensive.
You could always go to eBay and pick up a fresh 8600M GT, or hit up MXM-Upgrade and splurge on a Radeon HD 4650 1GB!

$300-400 is a fairly sizeable investment, maybe consider investing in a new laptop?

what was your card? Nvidia said that those with 84 and 86 die were defective, maybe you could try and contact them.
