I can never find any in Ireland/UK/Europe. Which models in specific carry the 6 cell battery.

Would it be at all cost effective to get a cheap Aspire One and a seperate battery?

I don't know what the EEEPC 901 will give but my wife easily gets 5 - 51/2 hours out of her 6 cell Aspire One using WiFi with screen brighness on high.

No Kitty. You already have an Acer lappie you are not happy with (screen problem contrast issues). I would suggest going for another brand.

Maybe that would be a better decision. Test the waters and see what the other vendors have to offer.

Once you have tested the rest, maybe you will realise that Acer. sits with the best.

The least of Acers problems is screen related.
