    Hi
I have 5920g with 8600gtm. I have my laptop for over a year now - no major issues what so ever. Anyway - I revised some software and decided to do some update - There's new vga driver 175.90 - my gaming temps are now much lower reaching 65C tops. I also decided to update sound driver to 2.07 and empowering technology which is listed under 5930g aplications. I managed to install everything without any problems. I have two questions though: my E key doesn;t work anymore - how can I assign it back to empowering apps. I understand that 2.07 realtek driver doesnt support 2.1 sound - so does it mean my subwoofer doesn;t work anymore - or it works - it just can;t be controlled (how can it be controled with default driver anyway? never saw any option to do this in 5920g) - alternatively can I use other 2.1 drivers design for 5930 or 6930 which are newer than the one specified for 5920?

    Hi

You should have a program called launch manager, accessable by a small icon with a finger touching a key on the bottom right hand side of your taskbar. You should be able to change the e button in this. If you can't see the icon, it should be in your programs list in windows start, all programs. If it's not there you should be able to download it from acer.

I'm just going to download the latest realtek driver, i'll report back on that when i've had a playabout.

Downloaded the 2.07 from realtek. The subwoofer does work with this driver. I can't find any option to control it directly but it does change when you change environment and equalizer. With the driver from acer, i couldn't find anyway to find the subwoofer directly, i guess thie only way for this to be changed would be through a graphic equalizer where you can change the options manually.

Many Thanks bangert - I've also noticed that woofer is working. The new empowering apps do work with 5920g exept for new erecovery. When I try to install eRecovery Management v3.0.3007 I'm getting message 'erocevery can not be installed - 1.bootable file'. I guess theres no way around to solve this problem - or is there ? :) The other thing is that I can't find new version of eNetManagement. The old one can;t be installed with this version of empowering framework. Is there anything new from acer to support internet connection management on 5920?

What site did you download the empowerment software from, I've just had a look at the european site and they seem to have different versions the the ones you have. This is the link for the 5920:

    http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5920.html

    See if this helps.

With the ENetManagment, if you can't get it to work, your wireless connections etc can easily be managed within windows, I use this personally.

yes those are apps for 5920g - I for a change tried to install apps from 5930g which are newer - and everything works - have few issues though mentioned above. I know its not that important and many people unistall all these extra apps in the first place without loosing funcionality. But since I am where I am - I'd like to know if there is any sollution. I know 5930 is centrono2 platform vs 5920g centrino- Still 5930 users should have some internet management software from acer compatible with 5920 as well as erecovery.
