Is it just the fan on high speed, or an unusual/abnormal buzzing sound?

Use external mic .... or lower the recording sensitivity .

Sound recordings needs special tools and conditions .

Hi, true you'll be without it, however this could lead to something more serious, then you'd be wiithout it anyway...

You can open it and see if there is anything stuck there. It might need some cleaning. It's very easy just get some pressurized air can or dust remover and spray in the fun and around. That might help.
