    Hi all!

Just a minutes ago i started my 5920, but after boot its screen remained black. I heard the sound of loggin into windows and the logout sound after pushing power button, but nothing else. After the restart everything seems to be ok.
So can someone tell me what exactly happened? :) Should i worry that this was some kind of hardware problem, or just a software issu?

    Thanks for any answer :)

    Hmmm...
I had a similar problem a while back: the screen would remain black when I tried to go back from sleep even though windows was running perfectly underneath. It turns out that it was the graphics drivers. At that time I was trying out version 165.01 on Vista.

The problem went away when I installed the version 163.69.

My advice is: if it happens again, try installing version 163.69 or (even better) reinstalling factory default graphics drivers because they are guarantee to work ;)

Well I have had a similar problem once, mayby some cabeles from TFT inverter aren't good mounted, try close and open laptop few times and press Fn+F6 butons few times when your laptop is on. I often suffer some screen flickering when I open my laptop and power it up. I belive it's coused by backlight cable which is not mounted properly.

    Sorry for my english

Ok, I am having this exact problem only it's happens frequently, actually, constantly. Also when it starts happening, there is nothing that I can do about at all except wait at least an hour and then try it again. Just to get it to boot with the screen on, I have to boot up, wait for windows to load, then shut it down again, turn it back and then finally the screen will come on and I then I can use it.

This is literally a daily occurrence. I have upgraded the bios to 3708 and then just downgraded back to 3706 and it's no good. I have also tried a variety of graphic drivers and still nothing.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Strange..i think it rather should be a kind of software issue, cause if it was a hardware issue, a simple restart wouldn't resolve it.

Exactly, I just have no idea what software is causing it. I wish I did though and sorry, I wasn't trying to overtake your thread.

It looks like I will have to dig through this myself. If anyone has suggestions, I will listen to them, otherwise I'll be messing with this thing.
