Guys, I plug it in and don't even get the charge light up front? Power button is non-responsive. Could this be a dead battery or bad battery problem causing it?

Take the battery out and then try to turn it on again just running from the wall plug. If it doesn't come on then your motherboard is probably gone.

I came across your post while searching for a solution of my own problem. This morning my Acer TM8100 would not power on, so after much searching I found a number to call. Although not a techy, the gal that answered the phone told me about an Acer power reset, which worked for me an may work for you as well.

Simply disconnect all power, ac and battery. Hold down the power switch for 30+ seconds.

When asked for the rest of the procedure, she stated she could not give out tech advice as her call might be recorded.

I plugged in my ac and powered up as normal with success!

I don't know if the same result would happen by just using the batt for power. I suppose it would, but anyway ac worked for me. Good Luck!
