    Hi,

I jsut formatted my pc and reinstalled everything. I was wondering how do I enable autoswitch between the ATI graphics and Intel graphics depending on whether my power cable is plugged in or not? I can do this manually but is there an option to automatically switch?

I know in the default acer configuration it did this, but after I format and reinstall drivers it doesn't do this anymore :(

In the ATI driver control panel under switchable graphics.

hmmm I can't see any option that lets me select autoswitching graphics depending on ac adapter in or not :( There are no settings there, it's just a blank space and then I can manually select 1 graphic or the other :(

Try installing the Acer Launch Manager and all other factory apps. I did that after a fresh Windows install and the "P" button does the rest when I want to switch cards on the fly.

That's exactly right. There is supposed to be a blank space between it (I am using the original Acer Windows 7 Home Premium). It will automatically switch to Intel GMA when you unplug the power adapter. It should switch back to the ATI HD 5650 when you plug it back in. Sometimes, it will take longer than 1 second to switch between graphics cores. Just be patient.

If you have hibernation enabled, it will sometimes not switch graphics automatically. I think it somehow resets the automatic graphics switching profile or there is some bug related to it.

Do you think everest might be the cause of it not auto switching? Hell it doens't even switch when I press the "p" button :( Have to do it manually from desktop :(

hmmm maybe I should format my hdd and re-install windows and see what happen..
