How's your 4820's so far after all these months use? Broken/loose hinges? Squeaking keys? i'm at least 16hours in the field and i need a reliable lappy to work on.

One of the hinges on mine requires an extra little push to fully close. It's still capable of holding the lid shut even if I don't push it fully closed so it's not a problem.

I did accidentally sit on my friend's 4820TG. It was resting on a table and I sat on it for a few seconds before realizing. No damage or anything.

Helped another friend to take apart his 4820TG to redo thermal paste. The inner design appears very well laid out. Parts fit very snugly and had a few occasions where it was tough to disassemble.

Overall a well built machine. I bought one and recommended it to 3 other friends (two of whom bought the 4820TG from amazon - one I sat on, one I disassembled.) The third one is about to pull the trigger in 2 weeks if only Dell and HP are offering Sandy Bridge.

    Edit: Timelines of TimelineX ownerships:
Mine - Aug 2010 until now
    Friend 1 - Nov 2010 until now
    Friend 2 - Feb 2011 until now

Got mine a week before Christmas last year, as well as one for my 14 year old son. They've both been reliable with no problems so far. Mine goes in my backpack and goes everywhere I do since I'm on call 24/7. I have two backup laptops that I've not had to use so far.

mine has been pretty good after about 3-4 months....i dropped it on a hardwood floor from 2 or 3 feet and no signs of internal or cosmetic damage.
