Ive had my laptop for about 2 years now. Most of the time when you plug in the adapter nothing happens. It continues to operate on battery power. However if you rotate it and fiddle with it you can get the AC power to work.

I tried using another acer laptop adapter incase that was problem. It wasnt.

Is there anyway i can replace the powersource/plug port?

Its likely that the connector for the AC adapter is soldered onto the motherboard, and it become loose. Motherboard replacements for a notebook is very expensive and not worth it. If you can get access to the connector by means of dissasembly, then you may be able to restore the connection. If your under warranty, then Acer should be able to fix the problem.

these units are known to have weak power connectors and if they break acer will replace the mainboard as long as the unit is in warranty.
