    Hi All,

I know that the new bios for the 5672 (3224 and upwards) support core 2 duo cpus.

Now I have seen that Intel has brought out newer models with 200Mhz FSB (800 Mhz).

The Tech. specs for my model:
    Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2300 (2MB L2 cache, 1.66GHz, 667MHz FSB); 1GB (512/512) DDR2 533 SDRAM

I know that I could put in a T7400 or T7600 in which have 667MhZ FSB (166Mhz) but can I also put in a T7500 or T7700 which have the quicker FSB?

I'd like to know because they are cheaper than the 166Mhz models.

    Thanks

According to my research I think the 5672 is limited to 166Mhz CPUs (667) because the 945 Chipset does not support the 200Mhz(800) FSB. This can be handled by the 965 Chipset

So I answered my questen myself, but maybe someone else can make use of this info.

Na, the new core2s with 800fsb r only for Santa Rosa platforms. It uses a different cpu socket then ours (945PM).

So, blame Intel for that. They want u to buy a new motherboard. Greedy bastards.

That 945PM is not the socket, it's actually the chipset.

But you're right, the new 800MHz bus cpus will not work in current notebooks.
