You can add bluetooth to the aspire 7720. Some laptops will have the bluetooth button but it doesn't mean they come with it sometimes.

I can't help you with 4810, but here's what you need to do to install bluetooth on 7720(it's the first thing I did as soon as I got the laptop).

Get one small Philips screwdriver and one small flat screwdriver.

Disconnect laptop from everything, turn it upside down, remove the battery and remove all screws on the bottom.

Open the main cover and disconnect the antennas from the WiFi card.

(not sure these two are necessary) Open the hard disk cover, remove 1 screw and remove the hard disks. Next remove optical drive. In the battery compartment you will see a piece of metal. Push it and the optical drive will pop out.

Using the small screwdriver remove the panel with power and bluetooth buttons. You should insert the screwdriver between the cover and the bottom part of the laptop. Then move it around. There will be plastic "catches" which hold the speaker/power panel. Be careful not to damage the panel.

Slowly move the keyboard. It is help by 4 small plastic catches on the sides. Once it is free, move it up a little bit and turn it upside down. Under it there should be a ribbon cable going from it to the mainboard. It will be held by a clip at the mainboard side. Carefully disconnect it by moving the black edges of the clip down.

Next, disconnect the display unit. Here's what you need to do: From the right side there are 2 cables going to the center of the mainboard. One is antenna and one is microphone. Disconnect the microphone from its connector at the center of the mainboard and remove the cable its place and carefully drag out the antenna from the bottom compartment.

On the left there are also two cables. One is for the second antenna and the other is for display and camera. First disconnect the display cable. Then remove the antenna.

Once the four cables are free, remove all black screws. The display unit should now be completely disconnected from the main unit.

Now using the small flat screwdriver slowly remove the top cover from the bottom cover. It's connected the same way as the speaker cover. Be very careful with the display catch. It can easily be damaged.

Now you should be able see in the area under the touchpad and next to the display catch one empty connector. That's where the cable will go (I heard that some units ship with bluetooth cable but without the bluetooth unit.).

Right next to the display catch there will be a small empty compartment. That's where the bluetooth transmitter will go.

I hope this will help and good luck.

Well, it is cheaper and easier to use, but it takes up external USB port.

There is 4 so shouldn't be a big deal unless you use all of them normally. I do think that would be a easier fix.

Try the switch and see if anything pops up, and check the device manager if there then yeah its got bluetooth but it would normally use windows bluetooth manager, only if you're using windows 7, with vista and xp you would need to install some drivers for it to be usable.
