I have the 1691 and succesfully overclocked it from 1.6 to 2.0. Thanks Meaker for the info. Can you help me with this:

Now I'm thinking of upgrading the RAM from 512 DDR 333 2700 to 1gig DDR 400 3200. I'm thinking the higher frequency will help with the overclocking.

Will this work, or should I stick to DDR 333?

    Hi,

Well I used setfsb for Acer1694WLMi. Actually, it wasn't completely stable at 2GHz, but it's stable at 1933MHZ which is still a 21% increase. In setFSB I just set the FSB to 161, up from 133.

    Dear fiatti
Thank you for your advice.I've tried setfsb, and overclock my 1691 to 1.9G, and then the fsb become 160Mhz, i also check the memory status, the fsb:memory ratio is 4:5, so when i overclock to 160fsb, the memory works at 200mhz,effectively ddr 400 ,my kingston ddr333 module seems cannot work at that frenquency. maybe change ddr 400 will solve the problem

Well I have the same problem, I can only get to a 154.8mhz fsb however I have a 760 in mine so that means a CPU speed of 2.32ghz

whan changing fsb, u also change pci express freq, so it's not reasonable to work with such an increase at pci express freq, u may damage it.

Nonsense, what exactly is there to damage?
