This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I'm getting this message on my Acer 5920 laptop, which is runing Vista Home Premium. I tried a restore, to see if it would help with the keyboard issue in my other thread.

    I'm also runing Norton 360, which has a pile of poop back up built in which is crap. Could that be affecting the windows restore and generating the error? I ask, as my old XP Pro' desktop, would back up and restore no problem, but it failed a restore after I put N360 on it.
