hi there, yet another thread about the m1210 :)

i've been looking around for some nice cooling pad for the m1210. i know it's already pretty nice and cool (the fan is always oh so quiet), but just for longetivity's sake, i'd like to keep it at prestine condition, at least to the best of my abilities.

now the question: wot type of cooling pad do you guys think i should get (as in where the fans are located)? after a few weeks of using the laptop, it feels that the area most needed for cooling is underneath my lefthand when i type (i suspect that's where the graphics card is located?), though i have yet to find ones with fans on the bottom left hand corner; the ones i've seen have either two fans at the top (i can't turn it around as the cooling pad is slanted downwards), or one big one in the middle.

as i live in HK, i'd like to have ones that i can actually purchase online and be shipped to hong kong.

advises are much, much appreciated! thanks!

Great machine you got there, I almost bought one. I really don't know where you can get the best cooling pad, but since you actually have an xps1210 I'd like to ask you a question. Have you tried BF2 on your machine?

thanks, it's awesome and i'm loving it :)

but no sorry haven't tried any games yet, as i've only had the machine for 2-3 weeks and my workload thus far does not permit me to try out any games yet. though even if i have time, i doubt that i'll be trying out BF as i'm a hardcore CS fan :p

Do you think the small screen is troublesome? I'm contemplating it because i cant find anything that matches it with its price with that epp discount

not really, especially when i also plug it into my 15" LCD (i know 15 isn't exactly big, but it's enough for me).
i just love how portable it is, including the inbuilt optical drive (pretty much all 12"-ers i've seen need another docking station, which actually makes it a lot less portable)

so, anyone has suggestions for the cooling pad? seems like i wont' get the respond i want from this side of the forum... mod can u move it back to the dell forum, at least for a week please? :)

Go for the Spire Pacific Breeze cooler! Very effective, noisy though.
