oh god avoid targus, everything i have ever bought (granted it was only 2 things, i caught on fast) from targus sucked bad. my cooling pad broke within 3 weeks, and the backpacks arm ripped off. it also slapped my sister and set my hair on fire.

Hmm it does seem like it works rather well, kind of reminds me of a heat pipe with the compound in it that crystalises when it cools again etc, it may be worth looking into it, but since they are rated quite poorly from what i hear, have a backup solution ready!

not a good notebook cooler if your notebook has fans underneath...since it will block them from properly intaking air.

if the notebook does not have vents on the bottom (like .MacBooks) then it might be more useful.

but for 99% of the current notebooks, this product is crap and will cause more damage than good.

Agreed with Gophn. I have the 17 inch Thermapak branded cooler that I used for a few days and my laptop literally melts all of the crystals in the center area where my GPU is. After a little more than an hour of intense gaming, the center of the cooler feels like a ziplock icepack after all the ice had melted. And when in pure liquid form, the cooler loses it's shape the and the laptop sinks in and blocks the fan intake. The cooler will also act as an insulator after a longer periods.

I now use the second edition of the Edova Xpad as my mobile passive cooler.

With that said, I am selling my 17 inch Thermapak for $20 shipped if anybody wants in.
