well my first headset i got from radioshack. never used a lot, but somehow it just broke and stuff. next headset i got from best buy for like 30 or 40 bucks...and some ******* broke the jack that plugs into the little hole. so now it only works as a mic.

was wondering what good brands/headsets there are out there that i can buy for a reasonable price, let's say like $50.

don't wanna go over that though.

well, ive heard that the Plantronics Gamecom 1 are really durable although outdated.

i personally, find Plantronics audio 350 pretty darn good for the price and feel so i went ahead and bought one from circuitcity for $24.99. check some of the reviews out on this headset on circuitcity. Also check out the Plantronics Gamecom 1 reviews on Compusa's website.

User reviews are your best friend :) . If by any chance you dont like it then just return it.

whatever you do, dont buy the bose triport over the ear, the one that is for $125 right now coz those break, had two sets and both broke at the hinge where the metal bar goes through. Hope this helps.
