Have any of you mounted your laptops in your car or use a mobile desk? I have seen a few on the internet and was wondering about their quality. I would welcome any of your experiences or recomendations that you have found useful. :)

    thanks

I had a Sony Viao 250 and a Dell c610 mounted in my car at different times for use as GPS Navigation and map usage while traveling and they both worked fine.

It was a home made mount I designed, that connected to the battery through the ignition and it's own fuse. It was designed to set just to the side of the console facing the driver or be placed behind the passenger seat.

I would suggest that you look into a manufacturer that provides such mounts for the police forces as these have been tested and approved.

A good mount will be expensive and as to be specially made for your specific car.

The good ones use the seat's anchor points to install the support and everything needs to be sturdy enough to prevent you laptop from becoming a lethal projectile in a car crash.

    Best Regards

Targus makes a cheap laptop mount. I can't remember the name though.
