just got my laptop and now im looking for a good mouse to go with it

i'd like it to have 5 buttons two of which i can program to my specifications(i think i can do that. correct me if i'm wrong)

needs to be wireless or bluetooth

needs to have good tracking capabilities as i wont always have a mouse pad with me

other than that just start pitching ideas
there's no such thing as a bad post :D

I don't think it has enough buttons for you, but if your right handed, the Logitech VX Revolution is a good one.

If you have the money, I'd get the MX Revolution by Logitech.

It doesnt have 5 buttons, but any of the first 6 mice shown here are very nice. "slimblade" is excellent. I have one and its very confortable to use and relaxing to your hand while using.

Logitech VX nano or G7? I think they are 4 buttons though.

You can always use the scroller wheel as a button and if its a tilt scroller wheel thats a total of 3 buttons/functions.

I'd go with the Logitech G5. It's still my personal favourite mouse, even after several generations more Logitech and Razer mice have been spawned. Only problem is that it's still a little on the small side, but it's hard to get mice much bigger than the G5 as it is.

That's my favorite, but the one I actually use most often is an MX518. Damn, neither is quite what you have in mind, I guess. :(

I have the vx revolution and it's a great mouse.. Laser was designed to track better on different types of surfaces, it has plenty of buttons, and never caused me any trouble.

I wish they would come out with a VX revolution "bluetooth edition". That would make it the perfect mouse!

What is the difference between the VX Revolution and MX Revolution. I know they have a bluetooth MX, I posted a question about it.
