    Lo all,

Thinking of getting an expresscard wifi solution, since I hate the intel pro wireless in my lappy and ive tried two atheros based solutions instead, both of which result in BSOD hardware parity errors randomly during usage.

    So onto my questions:

Firstly, and most importantly, does the card 'stick out' too much from the side of the machine or does it fit flush? I Mean is it something you can leave in as a permanent solution or are you supposed to remove it each time you put the machine in a bag?

Secondly, has anyone any experience with these cards and could recommend one? Thinking of trying draft-n and getting this nice linksys router i found..

    Anyways, ideas? suggestions? insults? :)

    Cheers

The card sticks out (or at least the ones that Google Images shows do)

Why not just replace the mini-PCI Intel card with another mini-PC WiFi card?

I tried this with 2 other cards (and I have had BSOD's with both). If anyone has had success with a particular brand of mini-pic express card in a dell xps (or similar i suppose) laptop then please please suggest one.

    damn, thanks.

They have to because they do not utilize the built in antennae in the notebook so the part that stick out is the antenna.

I have a CF Express card reader and it sticks out about 1/2 inch. It is fast, but I can't leave it in all the time.
