Hey, I just bought an 80GB iPod off of eBay. I paid $157 (including shipping) for it. The listing said it was an iPod Classic, but when I got it, I noticed right away that it was actually the older 5G version. The seller said if I returned it, she would refund the total price of the mp3 player. It's not that big a deal to me, but I realize that the support might go away fast, especially since the games on the new iPod are a different format for the older ones (aka, the old games won't work on the new iPod).
What would you guys do? Should I return it and try and find the 80GB iPod Classic, even if it might end up costing me a little bit more? Or, should I just keep it and be happy I even found one for that price?

Hi.
it`s a no brainer 5GB instead of the 80GB ordered send it back.
make sure you use recorded delivery.

I think he means 5G as in 5th generation. Not 5GB.
-
dtwn83 is correct.

I would definitely return it. I have both 5th and 6th generation iPod, 6th Generation (Classic) is slimmer and has a better GUI. 5th generation looks just plain dated compare to 6th generation ipod.

but 5th g's can run rock box and hb
-
run rock box and hb? What does that mean?
So, you guys think I should return it for the full refund and try again? Is it worth it? -
Return it and get a Classic
-
Return that. And instead of looking for a 6G version. Look for a Creative Vision
-
I was looking at a Creative Vision, but it doesn't support Mac computers, which my campus might have in some places. Not to mention, the Creative MP3 players don't come in 80GB. Otherwise, it is definitely a pretty cool device. I just have never used one yet.
-
Creative's latest Zen MP3 player currently is available with up to 32GB flash memory (it's the highest capacity flash based MP3 player there is for the time being) *plus* it also has a SD memory card slot so it's expandable to boot--as if.

I would return it but make sure and do it correctly. Make sure to have either delivery confirmation or insurance in case the seller tries to scam you.

Keep it.
Its all in the click wheel. Any aluminum iPod from the second gen nano on has an apple made click wheel. They're just not as good as the previous ones. -
I dunno about that. I mean, the click wheel doesn't bother me. I don't really use it that often (just usually dial to an album and play it). But would it be that much of a bother?
