hey guys i have a Lenovo ideapad Y530 (a forgotten model but still a great machine) and i'm trying to get a remote for it. it has the standard 54mm express card slot, but i'm wondering about compatibility issues: the only remotes i can find on ebay are for dells/HPs. any ideas of where i could find a working remote?

No question is too dumb to ask.

You have stepped into the blackhole of PC media remotes. There use to be an awesome bluetooth media remote that Dell use to sell. The company that makes them no longer sells them anymore though. And that's the only one that I know of.

Today's media remotes will be either IR or proprietary wireless. The ones that work for HP will all be IR AFAIK.

Dell does make a few that are wireless. They will have a small USB adapter that you plug in to your laptop. Any of those sold on eBay will work. Just steer clear from the ones which don't have an adapter. Those will most likely be IR and won't work with your laptop.

Not a stupid question at all; maybe a stupid topic title, but not a stupid question.
