    i want to connect my laptop to tv and my tv is not so new and i was wondering if i should buy this cable (these cables will work with my tv i have checked but i dont know if my laptop will support them) my laptop has a 7 pin s-video port

    when i bought my ati 3870 i got a svideo to avi (adapter) but when i tried to connect my pc to tv using this connecter it didn't work does anyone know why. the adapter has 9 pin and both my laptop and my ati 3870 has same s-video port (i think it is 7 pin female) but why did they game me a 9 pin adapter will the adapter work if i connet it to my 3870 in my desktop .
