ZAGG invisibleSHIELD & similar products: helpful? Worth it? Anything else available besides Zagg's stuff?

I have a Thinkpad 15" 4:3 T60p I'll be receiving soon. Wondering if there's any "protector" things/gimzos I could buy for the display, chassis. I've had T4x's for several years, I supposed a protector would have been nice.

And to note Zagg doesn't appear to make something for my 15" T60p form factor, wondering what options I have...

You can get it custom built from Zagg.

Cool, thanks. How do I approach/engage Zagg about that? I have yet to see anything on their website that describes how to make a "customized" shield...

I think the ZAGG invisibleSHIELD is a good product as long as you don't plan on using it as a screen protector. Regardless of what ZAGG wants you to beleive (and the videos show) the transparency of the shield is not crystal clear. There is a noticeable "orange peel" texture to the laminate, which is really distracting when viewing text on a white background.

The laminate also has the knack, when viewing movies through it, to distort colors so that a rainbow effect takes place. So, to sum up, I would definitely apply the invisbleSHIELD to the body of your laptop, but do NOT apply it as a screen protector to your LCD.

Just as a point of fact, I have invisibleSHIELD installed on my HP DV6500T laptop, a Creative Zen Vision:M 60GB media player, and an Apple iTouch 3rd gen 64GB.

Very helpful, thanks. Can you recommend any screen protector?

For a laptop screen, no. For anything else, BoxWave.
