    Hi
i have a new laptop that i will be using for school/games.

    i detest touch pads.
the only reason i use them is if i am using the laptop on my lap, otherwise if i have a hard surface i use my mousepad and mouse.

i usually carry my laptop, charger, mousepad, and mouse around.

    well heres my predicament.
my mouse is a wired mouse by Razer, which is amazingly comfortable in my hand, but has a 7ft cable or so.
    and
my mousepad is almost a foot long and almost a foot tall and is made of metal, for durability.

i dont know if i always want to carry these around, but i need to use the mouse on that pad, for lifetime reasons.

    so
any recomendations for wireless mice? ive been looking at the one that comes in different colors by m$.

    and
is there a battery life difference in wireless, bluetooth, wired mice?

u dont want bluetooth for a mouse unless you're running out of usb ports. bluetooth consumes battery more. i believe this type of mouse is the one that causes more trouble, wireless mouse that uses a usb receiver is the best way to go if you want wireless, of course, different model has different battery life. wired mice is the most hassle free and has the maximum performance, but the wire might prove a hassle.

    if u wanna go mobile i suggest;

logitech vx revolution - best all rounder
logitech vx nano - for that tiny micro receiver.

Go with the MX Revolution if you got medium to large hands, feels much better than the VX in my opinion.

There are also retractable mouses for laptop. I'm currently using a Samsung Pleomax SM-2100 retractable mouses, not too small not too big. In performance and response, nothing beats wired.

Go with a mouse from Logitech. I have a wireless mouse from them and I have never had any problems with it.

Definitely wireless, Logitech or Microsoft have mice with very small receivers.

+1 for the VX Revolution. Real nice mouse. Great frictionless wheel, uses 1 AA battery and feels great in the hand

I have been using Logitech G7 for two years now, it still works perfectly for everything I do. You should seriously check it out. Though I got it for 30 dollars with discount, I am not sure if they still offer a discount on this mouse, last week I checked it, it was about 80 bucks.
