I was searching for a mouse for my net-book. Originally I was looking for a mouse with a micro transceiver. Then I moved up to a mouse with Bluetooth.

My net-book doesn't have bluetooth so I went to CanadaComputers and picked up an Asus mini Bluetooth dongle for $20 [IMG] I needed the bluetooth to tether my phone for internet. Anyways Since I have two mice.

First one is Microsoft Bluetooth® Notebook Mouse 5000

Second one is Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 6000

These are both really great mice.

If I go with the Bluetooth then I save myself one USB port, but I lose the advantage of using the mouse on different surfaces.

If I go with the Bluetrack mouse, then I lose one USB port. I already have a mini Blutooth dongle hooked up in one USB port and that leaves only one empty USB port. On the plus side I can use the mouse almost anywhere. And Yes I do use the mouse on different surfaces and almost never on a flat surface.

So both of these have their ups and downs, can you guys help me decide which one's a keeper?

Does the bluetooth speed slow down when their are too many devices being used on bluetooth?

I mean the laptop didn't have a bluetooth in it, so like I mentioned above I went out and purchased Asus Bluetooth v2.0 + EDR dongle.

The dongle offers the Up to 3.0Mbps of speed, and here are some more specs

So if I were to use the bluetooth mouse and connect my iphone over bluetooth to tether with my laptop and also connect a second device, would the performance of the internet or the mouse suffer from too many devices interacting via bluetooth?

It shouldn't, then again it might depend on how many devices you have. I'm using a BT mouse and BT receiver for my headphones concurrently w/o issue (and the headphones definitely require more bandwidth).
