Thinking about purchasing a stand for my notebook, and was curious when CompUSA is finally going to mark their prices down to levels that are actually considered a sale.
In my area almost everything is still at 10-20% off, with the exception of crappy off-brand iPod and cellular products.

I don't know about that, as I heard that the man who owns Tigerdirect has bought CompUSA.

A stand for a notebook, not a standard notebook.

One look at their website definitely seems so. As soon as you click on any sections on the left, the layout of the site is an exact mirror of Tigerdirect but with CompUSA branding.

They're only keeping open 16 retail locations, and I can assure you my location is not one of them.
So for the remaining stores, their inventory is owned by whatever the name of the company is that is in charge of clearing inventory and shutting the stores down, so for those stores they will continue to mark merchandise down until the final day, which is what I'm interested in.

Nope, guess nobody knows. Their sale still sucks in my area. I love how 20-40% off their regular prices makes them finally competitive with Newegg and Frys.

There's one or two stores still active around here and when I was there a few weeks ago, the price was still pathetic.

Just saw somewhere that Feb 8th will be the final day. So looks like next week to the next week and a half is the time to start lurking for the 60 and 70% off deals. Thats when their prices become reasonable for a "sale".

CompUSA closed like a year ago in my area. I miss all the dirty cheap generic mice and keyboard they had lolz.

Newegg still offers better service and prices.

No joke, at least if you buy from the Egg you can return it if it breaks within a week or two, not so at CompUSA. Which is what is making me wonder if I even want to bother with stopping by there on their final days.

I was at the store in my area yesterday and it was a joke, they deserve to go out of business. Their sales were "15-25%" off on some things. Laptops, etc maybe $150 or so, LOL...

MS Office for home was about $125 after discounts... Wait that's $10 less than Best Buy's regular price, LOL..

I am lurking as well for the 50-60% off , if it ever happens, unless they just ship all remaining inventory to one location for a lot sale or something..
