I am trying to figure out what to do with the ExpressCard slot on my Dell Inspiron 1525 (which came with wireless, bluetooth, videocam, photo card slot). I'm a little fuzzy about what sorts of things it supports.
I don't play games on the computer. I have coupon that I want to use :)

What should of things do you want to use? There are some sound cards, express cards to add eSATA, a few ExpressCard SSDs, lots of stuff really. Most of it is gimmicky though.

That's what I was wondering...Is an ExpressCard a particular type of card? or is it just a brand name? Maybe I should buy speakers instead. (I have a coupon to use up.)

It is the licensed connection type. My suggestions, in order, would be a wireless remote then an esata card, and finally a surround sound hookup. :D

Expresscard is a notebook expansion port/slot. It supports a range of external plug-in cards, some of the more popular uses are : TV tuners, External sound cards, Mobile broadband modems and sometimes as a high speed docking station interface. The empty slot is also commonly used to store remote multimedia controllers shipped with the notebook.

Well, I'd put a Echo Indigo in the slot, but I don't think you can get those from Dell.
