I bought a VX Revolution as a recertified model. I plugged the wireless receiver into my laptop and it was recognized as a USB HID device, however the mouse was not recognized. The battery in the mouse has good charge and the mouse "on" light and battery indicator work but nothing happens. I havent used a laser mouse before but with optical mice, the tracker at the bottom is red but I think I heard with laser mice the tracker doesnt flash red when it's on. In any case I have tried it on two laptops and no joy. Not even the buttons work. Any suggestions? The mouse appears to work as the light is green and the USB wireless receiver seems to work as it is recognized as a HID but nothing else! :(

Where did you buy it from? Perhaps you should contact the seller for a replacement.

I think something is wrong with the wireless sender of the VX since the receiver IS recognized by your computer and the mouse gets energy from the battery.

The reason you don't see the tracker light is because the VX uses a laser (like you mentioned). The laser is visible but only if you look into the lens of the tracker under a certain angle. You will see a tiny red dot (it wil not harm your eyes to look in the laser, the laser is too weak for that)).

I think you should demand/ask for a new mouse since this has something to do with failing hardware. Good luck!

This is exactly the same thing that happened with my v200 mouse from logitech a while ago... the mouse should in most cases just plug-and-play. RMA it if you can. Logitech is a great company, and the vx revolution is a great mouse(i'm using it now), but eh.. yeah. Sometimes stuff just doesn't work..

Logitech customer service was actually very helpful, but their mouse was out-of-stock, so it took a REALLY long time to RMA. Instead, they sent me a pair of speakers(when I asked), and I just bought the vx revolution instead.
