I just purchased a Sony Vaio SR and would like to know which case would be better? I like the VGP-CKSR1 and the ZeroShock III but need the best protection for college. Price is not an issue, I just need to know the better of the two cases, or if there is a better case out there. Thanks in advance!

I have a Vaio SR and the ZeroShock III case. Have no idea what the VGP-CKSR1 is like, but I'll post some pics here for you to help your decision. :) Maybe try posting in the SR thread to see if other owners have the official Sony sleeve so you can compare?

    1. Close-up of the ZeroShock III interior. I particularly like the small bit of extra protection at the edges.

    5. Everything all zipped up. The fit is quite snug, so you should also be careful if you have the extended battery and make some careful measurements, since the SR's extended battery increases thickness, not the length/width, where there is more space in the ZeroShock III.

Thanks those pictures help! Do you think it offers good protection from bumps and other sorts of things? I know its called zeroshock but does it actually do what the title claims? I would post the same thread in Sony's category but i don't think double posting is aloud.

My roommate has the Sony sleeve and I have the ZeroShock. I have way more confidence in my ZeroShock than the cloth sleeve. The Sony one doesnt seem to absorb much impact.

The Sony one is just cloth? It said it had some anti-shock stuff in the description. I guess ill get the ZeroShock then! Do you think ill need a keyboard protector so it doesnt mess up my screen?

I have a number of laptops:

    2 Toshiba P305's (17.1 inch)...these never leave home
    1 Toshiba U405 (13.3 inch)...my constant travelling companion
    1 Macbook...sometimes use for travelling
    1 HP DV5T (15.4 inch)...for my bedroom
1 Acer Aspire One...for travelling close to home

I have a Zeroshock for each of these. You cannot go wrong with Zeroshock.

The Zeroshock III gives great peace of mind to me when I am travelling with the Toshiba U405, the Macbook or the AAO. I have Zeroshocks for the other computers just in case I ever decide to take them out of my house.

    Go with the Zeroshock. :)

I have keyboard protectors for all of my laptops, as well. I use the Shaggymac protectors. When I'm using my computer, these same keyboard protectors act as a great mousepad.

I just got myself a Vaio SR29 - fabulous machine.

I'll be going for the Zeroshock as all seem to agree on it - though will my SR29 fit in the 13 inch sleeve or should I go for the 14 inch version?
