So, it looks like I damaged the systemboard when I spilled coffee all over my laptop, which apparently costs $550 to replace. That's more than a quarter of what I paid for the laptop itself!! When I saw the email with the number, I just stared at it, long...

The only problem I've had as a result of the spill is, the battery no longer charges. However, it uncharges, so if I just find a way to charge it, problem solved. There are apparently no chargers made specifically for my model (Fujitsu N6210), so I was wondering if there's another way? I found a universal charger made by Sarrio, but it only charges batteries up to 10 volt - and mine is 14.8. So, is there anything I can do?

A little off topic but do you have homeowners or renter insurance? Depending on the company some policies cover your laptop.

No, I don't... The reason I didn't invest in an extended warranty is because I knew that if there was gonna be a problem, I'll be the one to blame. Gosh, was I right!

Maybe if I contact a different service center, I can make up a story that'd be covered under warranty that would require replacing the systemboard? What could I say to them that would make sense and that wouldn't make them investigate? Of course, if there are globs of sugar underneath, my plans will fall through - but if not... ?
