Hello. My husband broke the headphone jack on his Gateway laptop. I'm wondering if a Behringer (usb) audio interface Model: U-PHONO UFO202 would allow him to use his headphones with the laptop again? He isn't wanting to spend a lot of money and this seemed reasonably priced. Is there a better brand? Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks!

Yup! That will work. Something like this will do the job too if you don't want something that looks overly complicated.

That turtle beach is a good product, and the company has good customer service. I broke one of mine in half and they replaced it for free.

lol a little too good customer service then.

Are there any expresscard or PCMCIA audio cards that have audio jacks built in and sit flush with the laptop?

No. All of the Expresscard or PCMCIA sound cards I have seen either stick out, or use a dongle. Those cards are hard to find (because they are obsolete standards). And when you do find them, they will be expensive, since they tend to be higher-end "gaming" sound cards.

If it were me, I'd recommend getting some inexpensive and simple USB audio adapter (like the one Johnny T suggested), and be done with it.
