Was wondering if its safe to buy third-part dc power outlets for laptops? I'm using a Fujitsu n6010, and since gas prices, I use public transport. Carrying a 10 pound laptop is hard enough, carrying it with the **** outlet is even worse. I was thinkin of buying a third party outlet, but i'm not sure if its the safest thing to do. Will it mess up the battery in my laptop? Do I risk damage to the laptop itself? HELP! :(

I wouldn't use a $5 charger on a $1500 laptop. But if the charger has the same ratings as your stock one it should be ok, and it's from a relatively brand name company, it shouldn't be a problem.

You're fine if you go with a mainstream brand. Cutting corners is up to you, but I wouldn't do it.

I have been using the iGo Juice 70 to charge my Fujitsu s6231 without any problem.
