I'm going to be modifying my desk, and I will need a keyboard that is very very thin, I prefer the laptop style keys. I needs to be wireless and needs a 10-key number pad. I don't care if its back-lit or not. I have about half an inch of space to work with..

I've been looking for something like this for the office. Just ordered the V1 because it had a substantial number of good reviews (360 reviews averaging four stars on Amazon) and the price was right $35. The V2 only has two reviews so far, albeit both positive, so I decided to stick with the V1. I'll post a little review when it comes.

Thanks for the links! +1 rep.

Just to warn you that the receiver has an annoying blue light that will light up every time you hit a key on the keyboard. So unless you are plugging it on a desktop that is not in plain sight, I'd suggest just taping the LED part of the receiver with some black or grey electrical tape and cover that light.

Otherwise, the keyboard for the money gets the job done pretty well.

Thanks for the warning. My work desktop is under my desk where I can't see it, so that shouldn't be an issue. Nevertheless, silly design, HP. I guess some people want it to make sure that a signal is being sent, but I could see how that gets real old, real quick.

I have used the HP Wireless Elite (non chiclet style) and I can say that typing on that keyboard is an absolute joy. I'm not sure what it was about it, but i just loved the keyboard and it was quiet too!

I've seen the solar one, I think if I was going to do that I would just get the K800. The HP one actually looks pretty nice.

The receiver wont bother me as I am going to sink my notebook into my desk, and make it so the screen sticks up out. The reason I need a thin keyboard is so I can see my screen over the top of the keyboard.

I know this idea may sound odd to most of you, but since all notebooks now days have the cables coming out of the sides, and that bothers me horribly.. I am just going to hide them all together. Some may ask why I don't just get an external monitor, but I already have it hooked to a 40" screen and I want to run both the notebook screen and the 40" simultaneously.

Five months into ownership, there's an audible creak and visible flex from the bottom-left of the keyboard's case (where the top half the case has become partially disconnected from the bottom half), the backspace key squeaks, and most problematic, the "d" key occasionaly doesn't register. I wouldn't endorse this keyboard for anyone.

I had to re-type both D's in that last sentence.

EDIT: copious application of compressed air solved the "D" problem, but the other complaints remain.

Yeah, my spacebar squeaks a lot... As I said, for the money it is what it is. Obviously there are better keyboards out there than it.
