Hello. So I bought a Targus Defcon Cl Lock http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000031XCM/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top for my new XPS M1530. I bought it on eBay, brand new for 5€ plus shipping. I received it yesterday, everything seemed great, good materiales and nice system.

I locked it once to my computer with tht default combination (5008), then unlocked it and everything ok. Then, I tested if it would lock/unlock with other combinations, obviously it didn't, then I switched back to 5008 and it no longer worked! Thanks god I had removed it from the laptop 1 minute before. My laptop is only 1 week old :p

It's a strange thing that doesn't seem to have happened to me only (check the reviews on Amazon and you will find many people complaining about " Lock changes combination by itself" ).

Obviously I asked for a refund to the eBay seller, but even if he gave me a new one, I wouldn't trust using it on my laptop after this...

What can I do? What alternatives do I have? What lock do you use? Is it really useful?

    Thanks

Well, that seems to be good but I'd prefer not to have to use a key .

I am currently "using" a chinese copy of the Defcon CL (almost identical, except for materiales obviously) . Do you think that lock will also have that "autoreset" problem?
