My girlfriend dropped her E250 today, and the screen is now messing up. She says you can see the time on it when its at the main menu, but you cant see anything else. She says that its just a bunch of mixed up colors. She can't see any cracks in the screen, do you guys think the screen is broken? Or do you think the connector between the screen and the player is loose.

mine used to do the funny color thing for a while, then I dropped it, and it has never happened again. try running it completely out of battery power, then recharge it, that is what I did...

I was having trouble 1 time with my e280 where the menus were kind of goofy and slow, I upgrading the firmware. So, you may want to try upgrading, or reinstalling the firmware. It is really easy to do (just look on Sandisk's site).

I don't think its a firmware problem, theres lines across the screen and its kinda just a mumble jumble of colors.

could be just a glitch and you could try draining the battery, maybe gently tapping the device or even upgrade firmware if you havent already. also it is possible for the screen to have suffered internal damage, my old SE P800 had a cracked screen when i bought it, the actual screen wasnt cracked but the LCD leaked from the inside.

Lines through the screen are normally a firmware problem. It could be more serious though. Lets try and experiment shall we? Try placing the player into recovery mode. That is done by turning the hold switch on and holding the power+record buttons down for about 10 seconds. If you get a black screen that says welcome to recovery mode that is good news. If you don't then you have more serious issues. If you get the messege, "Keylock system shutdown" then you didn't do it right so try it again.

I'd just go ahead and do the firmware, it is easy to do, and who knows, maybe it will work! :)
