Just wanted to give a quick review of the Tom Bihn Brain Bag/Brain Cell combo for the Sager M860TU.

After deciding on the Sager, I knew I wanted a backpack/sleeve combo that was both big enough for this laptop and would provide very good physical protection. The trick with the Sager is that while it is only a 15.4 inch screen, the laptop is pretty thick, almost 1.9 inches at one point. Unfortunately, I could not find many sleeves able to fit such a thickness, and fewer that afforded real protection. And I had to find a backpack that could then fit whatever sleeve I got.

After much searching, I decided to try the Brain Cell and Brain Bag combo, size 2S vertical. While the listed specs were a little smaller than I needed, the Tom Bihn rep assured me via email that it would fit, and that they would pay for the shipping if it didn't. Very nice! Turns out that the Sager fits the Brain Cell like a glove, perfectly. Could not have asked for better. The Cell is hard sided and really does protect the laptop a great deal, as far as I can tell.

The first impression of the Brain Bag backpack is that it is very well made. Very sturdy, thick material, big solid zippers. It's big. I'm about 6'1" and it looks ok on me (I think :p ) but anybody on the short side might want to look into other options. The Brain Cell fits into it very well, as you might expect. Because it is the vertical version of the Cell it does not hang on the special clips in the Brain Bag like the horizontal models do, but otherwise it fits snugly.

I have not actually done any real traveling with it yet, but will be in the next week or so, and I'm looking forward to seeing it in more serious action.

Generally speaking, Tom Bihn products have been reviewed quite a bit here and elsewhere, and have received very positive evaluations. So far, I agree with them! ;) And if you are looking for something specific for the Sager M860TU, I can definitely say it's a great match.

Let me know if anybody has any questions.

Tom Binh bags are great. I have one for my E1505 and one for my Voodoo M855. The bags are maybe about 3 yrs old, but they are made really well, and they have held up very well to 3 years of abuse.
I wanted to get another bag for them for my larger laptop, but they do not manufacture sleeves that large.

If possible can you post up some pictures of your bag

I'll take some pictures over the weekend, although since I went for the black on black version of the Brain Bag, you probably won't be able to make much out of it. ;)

Aesthetically, Tom Bihn and Sager go very well together. Both are very unassuming, almost generic looking from a style perspective, but hide a lot "under the hood." I love it, but it may not be for everybody.

Tom Bihn also stand behind their products. I just got my Brain Bag back from Tom this week. The threads holding the zipper to the front compartment disintegrated due to rubbing against the side compression straps over 20 months. They pulled the zipper apart and re-stitched the entire zipper back into place under warranty.

They also replaced the back panel that had a few pitted holes or pulls to the mesh material. I agreed to pay for the back panel replacement and got the removable waist strap as an update.

The bags are expensive, but you get what you pay for. You can't get that kind of service from many other manufacturers and IMO the backpack combined with a brain cell offer the best protection of any backpack I have ever seen.

    kosmo,

I don't have a vertical brain cell, but have you tried moving the clips? The bag is designed to hang the brain cells. I can't imagine that TB would have the 2S size as an option for the Brain Bag and not have it hang.
