Hey Guys, i know that Title doesnt say much and isnt precise, but here is the deal. Im looking to buy BF3, on Origin it costs 90 Bucks with the Back to Karkand expansion. In a local Store it only costs 55 Bucks with the B2K included. So i want to go the cheapest way...

My problem is that my next Gaming Notebook doesnt have an Optical Drive, so im looking how to install the Game on the SSD which will be shipped with my laptop. Is there some kind of Adapter that wil let me connect my SSD to another Computer (with an Optical Drive :D) and Install the Game onto the SSD via USB?

I already have some kind of Adapter that came with my external HDD which lets me connect a 2,5" HDD via USB to Computers will this also work with an SSD?

You may want to get an external Optical Drive, that may be cheaper.

If you want to get the adapter, you'll have to look for an enclosure (2.5 in)

Yeah, an external ODD is thirty bucks new - or if you hunt for used, probably a lot less.

well then if i buy an external ODD i might aswell just go with the Origin Version of the Game :p

So does anyone know if the above mentioned adapter would fit a crucial m4 ssd?

what? for Battlefield 3, you need to install Origin first (EA's version of Steam). then you can enter the game code and activate it on Origin. after that, Origin will download the game directly from EA's servers to your hard drive; no need for an optical drive.

the cheapest way is not to buy any hardware, and get BF3+B2K from Origin right now as they have a 50% sale going on during the whole weekend. then just download the game from the internet.

Do you mean that i can buy a physical copy of the BF3 limited edition in a store and then just use that code in origin and then download the game? that would be awesome. :D

I live in Switzerland and sadly there is no 50% sale here, there isnt even a swiss store, you get redirected to the german one...

Thats ok, I'm sure you all have other benefits we do not. Buy an optical drive for your enclosure.
