My mouse smells really bad from all those gaming sessions ive had. Im wondering if i can kill the smell by rubbing the mouse surface with alcohol. Will the paint or any of the design from my G5 come off?

Smells bad? Must be a combination of your sweat, cheetos, and that greasy burger you had.
I use Windex on mine. You can also try using just some plain ol' glass cleaner as well. Use either a soft towel or get some paper towels and wipe away the grime. -
you got the 1st part of the 2nd word right.
it smells like cheese -
yeah it works or also what works well is the lysol wipes

Alcohol wipes work well also sports gear cleaner works better if it wont corrode the plastic

I have a G5 laser mouse, the first generation ones with one back button.
After anyonw uses my mouse I clean it with rubbing alcohol. I have not noticed any discoloation over the years.
The blue g5 may have different effects, because the surface fas a texture to it.

A bottle of isopropyl alcohol is a good fix. A bottle is around $1 at a grocery store.
And I have to ask: why were you smelling your mouse? -
Haha, really now, what drove you to smelling your mouse? Must've been really bored or something .
I just use a cloth and a few dabs of water on my Deathadder, works fine with random food stains but I can't comment about smell...why don't you just spray it down with lysol if it's that bad . -
lmao nono! the thing is on Halloween my friends came over for a little jam. 1 of them wanted to turn up some music and well..he had really sweaty hands. I told him to wash his hands but hes like "nah its clean".
So yeah, the smell came from him, and its noticeable from a fair distance :S
