I'm looking into getting a new backpack for Uni which will also fit my laptop (already in a ZeroshockIII case), and I'm pretty much settled on Swissgear stuff, the only question I have is... which one?

I'm pretty sure my laptop will fit in any bag swissgear has, but I'm looking for a good sized backpack, that can hold a clipboard and portable file folder with room to spare incase I need to lug around a textbook or two as well. (I'm in engineering... and I kinda prefer working on campus than at home.)

Anyone help me out here? :D

PS, if you know of a better brand/more durable or something other than swissgear, please suggest. :D

    Hey there!

It looks like you have a 13.1" notebook? I was going to recommend the Synergy by Swiss Gear..but I'm wondering if it might be too big for your Sony ;)

I have the Synergy for my XPS 1530, and it fit's just great...I have room for the *extras* also! :D

And, I am happy to promote the Swiss Gear line...they make fantastic backpacks and such ;) :)
OH, and Swiss Gear backpacks are very reliable, durable, sturdy, and roomy! :D And, most are priced very reasonably! :D

I was thinking of these Swiss Gear style backpacks for your Sony!

SwissGear Computer Backpack (Black) - $32.99

Maxxum Swiss Gear by Wenger Notebook Backpack Blue - $54.00

SwissGear Computer Backpack (Black) - $29.99
    http://www.amazon.com/Swiss-Gear-SA...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1228872225&sr=1-1

Those 3 are just a few I thought of, but here is page of Swiss Gear backpacks at amazon.com for you to peruse if you'd like: ;)

If you want to see some pic's of the Synergy w/lappy inside, etc. ~ just let me know!

    Good luck!

    Cin ;) :)

Tumi, Tom Bihn, and Booq offer great quality and rugged laptop bags (though they can be a little pricey).

I have a 13.3" SR inside a ZeroShock III sleeve, and it fits perfectly into a 15.4" Swiss Gear backpack, so size-wise, I wouldn't go any larger than 15.4". I'd highly recommend Swiss Gear. Good padding and very comfortable.

Oh jeez... lots of choices. :D

Hmmm... I wonder if I can find any store that sells these in my city... otherwise I'll just have to wing it based on dimensions. :S

Try a sporting goods store or Target or Walmart or someplace. Just try out all the backpacks and how they feel (put your laptop in them if you can). Then you can go online and buy it for the better price. :)

The Office Depot by me, has a few of the Swiss Gear backpacks in stock.

Maybe, if you have a Office Depot by you...you can call and if they have them in stock ~ go and try them out for *fit* for your lappy?

    Just a thought!

...I need to live where you guys live clearly.

Local BestBuy here has nothing but junk... and Staples seems to carry only one Swissgear type of bag (one which happened to break on me just earlier this year... excessive weight load ripped the strap out of its stitching, no bag is safe in my hands. NONE. Should I be happy or sad about that...?).

I haven't looked at office depot though... will definitely have to run over and take a look see for myself. Thanks.
