    Hi,

So first my laptop. It is a Dell Inspiron E1705. So I am tring to plug in my old Canon S600 printer which has this humungo plug-in thing. The problem is, I can't find a place on the laptop to hook it up. I was wondering if there is some type of adapter or something I can get so that I can plug in the printer and use it.

My second question is how can you print from a laptop to another printer, e.g. the laptop downstairs be able to print to the printer hooked up to the PC upstairs.

    Thanks for the help!

First the connector that you are talking about is what is called a 36 pin Centronics adapter, better known as a parallel connection. Most new laptops have gone away from this technology, to instead focus on USB, Bluetooth or WiFi printing. There are adapters out there that allow for a parallel to USB connection.

As for your second question you need to enable File & Printer Sharing on the desktop computer. This will then enable to print to that printer.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you very much, but could you give a suggestion to an adapter? Or are all of them fine.

    Thanks
